Gayatri is the Mother of Vedas. Lord Krishan in Bhagwat Gita (10.35) says he is Gayatri amongst Mantras, Supreme mantra Gayatri is recommended to chant.
Aum Bhur Bhuvah Swah Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi Dhiyo Yonah Prachodayat.
This Gayatri mantra is a prayer to the cosmic energies which is the universal of life and humble request from it to enlighten. Ones intellectual frontiers.
मुक्ता-विद्रुम हेम धवलच्छायैर्मुखस्त्रीक्षणै-
र्युक्तामिन्दु-निबद्धमुकुटां तत्त्वार्थवर्णात्मिकाम् ।
गायत्रीं वरदा-ऽभयः अड्कुश-कशाः शुभ्रं कपालं गुण्
शंखम् चक्रमथारविन्दयुगलं हस्तैर्वहन्तीं भजे ॥
Muktā-vidruma hema dhavalac-chāyair mukhais-tryakṣaṇair,
Yuktām indu-nibaddha-mukuṭām tatvārthavaṛṇātmikām/
Gāyatrīm varadābhayāṅkuśakaśāḥ śubhram kapālam guṇam
śaṅkham cakram athāravindayugalam hastair vahantīm bhaje//
I meditate on the (five-faced) Goddess Gayatri whose faces are of the hues of the pearl, coral, gold, black and white (stones) of three eyes (in each face), with jeweled diadems set with the crescent moon, composed of syllables representing the real Truth, and holding in the (ten) hands, the poses of offering refuge and boons, goad, whip, white skull, rope, conch, discus and two lotuses. “Gayatri”
It is a Sanskrit word, Ga means to sing, Yatri means Protection. Or Gayante trayati iti Gayatri, Gayatri has three phases and so it is called tripada. It is also called tripada because it is Vedmata, Devmata and Vishwamata. Vedas have originated from Gayatri mantra and so it is known as Vedmata. It is Devmata because it helps in manifestation of divine virtues (gun), actions (karma) and nature (swabhav)
Goddess Gāyatrī is worshipped as the Saptadev (Bramha-Sarasvati, Vishnu-Lakshmi, Shiv-Shakti and Ganesh) combined as one. Gāyatrī. Is mother of Vedas as well as also consider being the mother of all Gods
According to Sir John Woodroffe, in his introduction to the Sanskrit edition, Mahavishnu describes Om as consisting of the following. Bhuh is existence, Bhuva is the elements, Svah is the atma of everything, Maha is greatness and light, Tat is Brahman (the absolute), Tapah is all knowledge, Satyam is supremacy and internal wisdom. This tantra connects the three letters of Om (A+U+M) to the seven worlds.

Dear All,
We had wonderful time, yesterday, Sunday, 16-Jan-2011 at Gayatri Mandir. I must thank Mahesh Sharma for his initiative of bringing us together. Hopefully, in our next together, we will be able to see more of us coming closer and enjoying each others company (possibly with families?).
